NWEP “Movie Matinee”

  • April 9, 2017
    7:00 am - 9:30 am

Popcorn, bottled water and soda!  Just bring your movie candy!

Join us as we view various short educational documentaries (and a docudrama or two) of earthquakes and tsunamis in our Cascadia Subduction Zone region, as well as some programs on the vulnerability and ease of disruption of our US power grid and the expected aftermath of such a devastating event.

This is an informal setting, where questions and conversation are encouraged! Come and meet some new and veteran members of the group and make informational connections within our community of students and mentors!  As always, this is for instructional review, and is free and open to the public.

Some programs will include:
-Mega-Earthquake Disasters (Nat Geo Wild) in the Pacific North West
-National Power Grid Collapse: What Will You Do WHEN It Fails
-Cascadia Subduction Zone: The Big One
-Reconstruction of a Cascadia Subduction Zone Mega-quake
-American Blackout (Nat Geo)
-American Power Grid Danger
-Lights Out (US Power Grid vulnerability – book interview)
